Some of the key roles of the department are:

1. Assist the members to experience growth in their relationship with the Lord (study the Word, prayer, meditation, attend spiritual convocations)
2. Provide outreach projects for the members to engage in connecting with none members and develop social relationships with them
3. Get the members to be involved in projects that address the social needs of people in the community
4. Train the members how to transition from social relationships to spiritual conversations with others
5. Train the members to do bible studies with others
6. Provide the resources for the members to actually engage in study and social ministries with others
